Fruit of the Spirit
The Fruit of the Holy Spirit is a biblical term that sums up the nine visible attributes of a true Christian life written of by Paul in his Letter to the Galatians chapter 5. Though this references 9 attributes to the Fruit of the Spirit, the original Greek term translated as "fruit" is singular, signifying that there is one fruit with nine attributes. Throughout the Bible, the righteous are likened to trees,[Prov. 11:30] and in Galatians 5 Paul explains what fruit a righteous tree bears. Accordingly, this "fruit" is grown by those who have truly repented and become followers of Jesus.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
The 9 Fruits are coming from the Holy Spirit and not from the Christian. The word Spirit is a capital S which is referring to the Holy Spirit and not the human spirit. The Fruit of the Holy Spirit are God's divine personality and character traits that are worked in over time into the Christian human spirit.
A warm welcome to Father Henry Salditos of Our Lady of the Valley in Pahrump.
We come together to share a common vision that we often continue on our journey towards something remarkable and hopefully we will all continue to forge important relationships as we share in the joyful mysteries of our Lord. May we all cherish the time that we spend together; may we form wonderful memories to carry with us in the years still to come, through Christ our Lord, Amen.
